A few pictures worth keeping, without making the kids earn their cider.
Get the easy family shot first.
Find a simple patch of pumpkins or a quiet fence. Face open shade so nobody squints like they’re being interrogated.
- Ask someone to take a few frames with everyone included.
- Check the background for distracting signs or bins.
- Take one smiling picture and move on.
Catch the little story.
The best shots happen between poses. Follow the fun instead of stopping it every three feet.
- A kid choosing a pumpkin way too big to carry.
- Hands around a stem, muddy boots, or a small pumpkin beside a large one.
- Walking away together, the wagon ride if permitted, and a candid laugh.
Make the photo plan fit the outing.
Coordinate a few comfy colors, not matching outfits everyone has to keep clean. Follow the venue’s rules for access and photos.
- Bring a cloth for hands and a familiar extra layer.
- Ask permission before photographing other families.
- Phone away after the short list. The visit is the point.
