Sip Happens: A Love Letter to Cocktails

Let's be honest. We're done with the over-planned dinner parties. The ones where you're chopping vegetables at 6 a.m. and oven-juggling three dishes at once while someone asks if there's a gluten-free option.

This year, we're doing it differently.

We're hosting a Galentine's party where the drinks are the main event. Not the side act. Not the thing you throw together while the roast finishes. The whole reason people show up.

Because here's the truth: cocktails make better parties.

Why Cocktail-First Hosting Wins

When you host around drinks instead of dinner, everything shifts.

People move. They mingle. They're not stuck at a table for two hours waiting for dessert. They can drift between conversations, refill their glass, grab a chocolate strawberry, and keep the night feeling light.

You're not sweating over timing. No one's asking when the main course is ready. No one's hovering near the kitchen wondering if they should offer to help.

You pour. You toast. You enjoy your own party.

And if you print a menu and set out the ingredients, your guests can even make their own. Less work for you. More fun for everyone.

It's intentional hosting. Not lazy. Just smart.

Lightly muddle berries in the bottom of a glass. Fill with ice and pour in pink lemonade. Top with sparkling water or soda. Stir gently and serve immediately.

Styling the Night

Keep it simple. Print the menu and prop it on a small stand. Set out one floral arrangement. Use coordinated glassware if you have it. Add a plate of chocolate strawberries.

Stick to a soft pink and gold palette. It feels put-together without looking overworked.

Your friends will think you spent all day. You'll know you spent an hour.

Sip Happens

This Galentine's, skip the five-course meal. Make the cocktails the star. Set the vibe with a printed menu, a few easy hosting ideas, and drinks that look as good as they taste.

Because the best parties are the ones where you actually get to enjoy them. And when the drinks are this good, no one's asking what's for dinner.
